Amsterdam is one of the most colourful cities in the world. Being somewhat smaller then most European cities, it is a true charming and romantic town. Amsterdam has so much to offer from its beautiful canals too world famous museums, cozy pubs, fun shops and flower markets. The city a true melting pot of cultures, build on tolerance and diversity.

It offers everything you find in a big city: culture, entertainment, international restaurants, clubs for going out, good transport - but is relatively small, quiet, and largely thanks to its canals, has a little road traffic. In Amsterdam you are basically always close to everything.

The Anne Frank House is situated in the Jordan area of Amsterdam: the hiding place where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary during World War II. The Anne Frank House has two parts. In ‘het Achterhuis’ the rear part of the house, Anne and her family remained in hiding. In the front part of the house there was a company belonging to Otto Frank, Anne’s father.

Diamond Factories
After the Second World War the diamond trade was in part returned to its former glory due to the efforts of the diamond merchants and help from abroad. Nowadays the diamond trade attracts millions of tourists and buyers from around the world. Most diamond polishers as well as diamond traders give demonstrations in diamond cutting.

Canal Tours
Waterways, shaded by leafy green, reflect five centuries of architectural glory…. To this very day a walk through the narrow streets of Amsterdam gives the walker glimpses between buildings that have inspired generations of artists. There is a better way of discovering the magnificent narrow streets of Amsterdam, namely a cruise along the canals. You can enjoy such a cruise throughout the year. The possibilities range from standard canal cruises lasting one hour through to cruises of four hours including dinner. In the evening you can experience special romantic candlelight cruises.

Red Light District
Every tourist has heard about this district before he or she even arrives in Amsterdam. This city’s Red Light District is world famous. And the area around Oude Kerk certainly lives up to its name: red lights burn in abundance. Not an area you would like to be seen in normally. After all this is the area where the city’s prostitutes ply their trade. It is virtually impossible not to pass the area’s best known club, Casa Rosso, on Oudezijds Achterburgwal. However, there are other reasons to visit this district. Some of Amsterdam’s most beautiful buildings can be admired here. It is also a great place for unusual shops and interesting pubs and restaurants.
